Sampler patterns

So I’d like to learn some new stitches and I was wondering if anyone knows and good patterns for some kind of sampler? Maybe a blanket of blocks that I could work on one at a time? Something not too ambitions because I’m still a beginner and I’m a student so I have a limited budget/amount of free time.

Any suggestions?

There are several people around here that knit wash cloths (absolutely beautiful ones) as they are learning new sts & make the washcloth with the new st; and now they have progessed to making such fancy & beautiful cloths that they are just amazing…Lisa would be one that I can think of off the top of my head that does beautiful cloths.
You could also knit sample squares, for example 4x4 in or 6x6 in; whatever size you might like & then just knit them together for your own afghan or throw

Here is a site for DISHCLOTH PATTERNS

BUT…if you used a non-cotton yarn, and make them all the same size, you can later seam the squares together into a LOVERLY afghan!

There is also a stitch directory HERE and some squares HERE

You should just bookmark knittingpatterncentral in general…its an AWESOME resource for free patterns!

Err. I think your wires got crossed somewhere because your first link actually has nothing to do with dishclothes. It’s amusing though!

I’ll check out the other links. Thanks!

OOPS! I fixed it!

:roflhard: :roflhard: KK you must really like that picture! :roflhard:

So where would that link have taken us?

Edit: err… I know where now hehehe you are too fast for me Kelly

OK, I’m curious…what was the 1st link that you changed KK? !

I’m a bit of a newbie and wanted to do the same thing. I got a book on sampler afghans off e-bay for pratically nothing and been trying my hand at that. It has 60 different patterns and you make 12x12 blocks , then when you have 20 made, you crochet or sew them together. I havn’t actually got anything going yet to show you in pictures, but I’ll let ya know how it works out. :waving:

Is that the leisure arts book that shows 3 afghans with the 60 squares. I have that book. I am about 10 rows into my first square.

:XX:

I am starting my 12th square, and I want to do the “Daisy Stitch” one. Unfortunately, I can’t really understand the drawing and every search I do on the daisy stitch comes up with something vastly different than the square. Help?

Hi, can you post the link of the Daisy stitch that you are wanting to try? I clicked on the links below but couldn’t find it. I might be overlooking it though
