Sampler Blanket/Throw

I’ve looked and looked but I can’t find a blanket/throw pattern made up of sample blocks of different patterns. If I can’t find one I’m happy to try making blocks out of the stitch a day calendar but how will I make sure each one is the same size? Thoughts?

Barbra Walker has a book called “Learn to Knit Afghan” which does just what you want.

If you just wanted to do several stitch patterns just do a guage swatch in stockinette stitch and figure out how many inches you want each square then cast on as many stitches as you need to get that number of inches.
