Russian knitting?

Hi guysdoes anyone know anything about this?
Is it easier if you’re a lefty?
As a left hander, I always TRY to turn stuff around backwards

ya know? Just so i can make it harder on myself~~~LOL:knitting:

I think russian knitting is similar to combination style, so you might look that up here - www.anniemodesitt.com

I agree with Suzeeq, that is exactly what it is, a kind of combination knitting. Some people are very lock step in their definition of Russian knitting and say if you don’t hold the needles like they do it is not Russian knitting, but I have my doubts that everyone in Russian does everything exactly the same anymore than people in other parts of the world.

Combination knitting involved wrapping the yarn the other direction when purling and then to compensate for the twisted stitch that results on the next row you knit through the back loop…most of the time…sometimes you still have to change things to make them work, for instance in the round.

The Russian/combination purl is easy, but the knit is the same as in Continental knitting. As far as left handed, many knitters who are left handed do choose to knit Continental, or Combination because they find it easier.
