I am going to do the finishing on the rug today, but I want to wash it before giving it; it is a gift and I want it to look clean and shiny! How do I wash it without it losing it’s shape? I thought about blocking it, but it is round, and I am just a little scared about ruining it!
Wash it according to the instructions on the yarn ball band. Then pin it out to the correct dimensions. It should open up the lace in the pattern. If you don’t have blocking boards you could put a sheet down on a rug and pin to the rug. Do this in a room that you can close off from any pets.
