My pattern is calling for 20 stitches on size 7 needles which should give me a 4" swatch - BUT the pattern does NOT indicate how many rows to knit…is there a conversion table somewhere for this?

What pattern are you going to knit?
Hi Engblom,
I am knitting Ridgeway Lite #304 from Cabin Fever (size 2 for future reference, which I am sure I will need)
Claudia
It seems to be a bought pattern for a sweater so I am not able to look at it. As the row gauge is not given, it is probably not critical for this sweater. I would not worry about it. Many patterns got instructions like “knit until X measures Y cm” or something similar for the vertical length. The gauge of “20st in 10cm” is more important because it will determine the width of the sweater.
Engblom,
Okay, I will rest easy at this stage of the process. This will be the first sweater knitted for my son-in-law, who I adore, so I am anxious (what else is new) to get it right.
Thank you!
Claudia
