what’s “kfb”?
i’m guessing its some kind of increase, judging by some clues in the pattern [“sheldon” the turtle from knitty’s winter 2006].
it also says to “pfb” which i’m guessing is the same thing as kfb but with purling.
You’re, right, it’s an increase. Knit into the stitch normally, leave the st on the left needle and knit into the back `leg’ of the stitch, then let the st drop off the left needle. Purl front and back is done similarly.
