I’ve knitted a stockinette roll brim hat on two needles (and I’ll never make another one w/o using dp or circular). I’m seaming it with the mattress stitich, but what do I do about the roll up part. Is there a way to do from the purl side just for the roll up. Or should I just accept where I seamed on the stockinette side is going to show on the roll up?
Yes, that is what I want to do - but I don’t know how to do mattress stitch on the purl side. I guess I could just overcast or back stitch or whatever - won’t matter. I tend to make a mountain out of a mole hill.
well, technically it works the same: the strands between the stitches. But you know: just sew it up. It will not look as neat anyways to connect purl to purl side by side.
The other option is to take thin thread and seam with that between the stitches / within the yarn. That turns less visible if you find the right color machine sewing thread.
