I knitted this bag, called the Road Bag from a pattern in a book called [U]Bags that Rock [/U]by Kelly Deal. For those in the know she sings with the alternative rock band the Breeders and also knits. I’m not in the know, but my husband likes the Breeders and saw her book and got it for me for Christmas. Anyway, lots of cute ideas in the book and some good bag patterns.
I started this bag March 7th and finished it today, March 13th including felting, lining it, attaching the strap (a jeans inseam), and a magnetic snap. I also had to work a lot this week, so it was a quick project.
I went to look at the other pictures at Ravelry. I was wondering what you made the strap out of, now I see it here, a jean inseam. Good idea, that will have a lot of strength and won’t stretch out. I love your color combination, the purple with the green lining and button or flower. Nice work.
The use of the jeans inseam is in the pattern instructions, so not my invention, or one could use a regular purse strap or a belt. I like the inseam, now that I’ve used it a bit I think it’s a brilliant idea.
