Ribbing

When I use ribbing, when I switch from one stitch to the other, it’s always loose inbetween. Is there any way that I can prevent this from happening?

 I don’t really know, but same here that happens to me too. Wait! I think it has to do with bringing the yarn to the front when you purl, and bringing the yarn to the back when you knit, but I still don’t know how to prevent that from happening, maybe you will just have to live with it.

Just make sure that you hold your yarn tightly between stitches.

There is a way to wrap your purls differently, but I haven’t done it. I’m sure whoever posted that will chime in.

That happens to me too

Yeah, I’ve wrapped my purls differently. What you do is wrap the working yarn clockwise (instead of counterclockwise) when you purl the first stitch after a knit stitch. This WILL produce a twisted stitch, so you when you reach the twisted stitch on the next row, you will have to knit (or purl if you are knitting on circs) into the BACK of the stitch. It really does make a difference, but it is a bit of a pain if you first tried it before you were comfortable with purling (like I did).

Let me know if that’s clear…
