Ribbing question

Hi all,

I’m usually a crocheter but I’ve decided to throw myself in the deep end and make a knitted cardigan as I’m expecting in October and have plenty of time on my hands to give it a go!

I’ve made all the pieces, sewn the shoulders together and started ribbing the border that goes all along where the buttons will be and then over the neck to create a little shawl collar. I’ve come to a point where the pattern says as follows-

“Starting with 2nd row of 2x2 rib work 1 row. (this I’ve done)
Next row. Rib 90, wrap 1, turn (done)
Next row. Rib 22, wrap 1, turn (done)
Next row. Rib 25, wrap 1, turn (done)
Next row. Rib 28, wrap 1, turn (done)”

This next bit is where I am stuck.

“Work 12 rows working 3 more sts in each wrap row as before.”

I don’t understand what it means by 3 more stitches in each wrap row??

Can anyone help, I’d be very grateful!!

Welcome to knitting help

On the next row you’ll work 31 (28 +3) wrap and turn, the following row 34 (31 + 3) wrap and turn, and so on.

Ah! Ok, makes total sense, don’t get how I didn’t see that! Thanks so much, I will carry on now!!

Glad I could help. If you’ve not done short rows before they are confusing.
