Ribbing on sleeves!

Hey everyone just a quick question. I’m knitting king Cole little big stripey sweater. I stopped making a while back however decided to give it another go.

I’m on the sleeves at the moment.

The pattern was cast on 45. Work 9 rows in 1 x 1 rib.
Then rib 3, rib 2 tog. Then (rib 2, Rib 2 tog) x 9. Rib 4

Then work in stocking stitch.

Just wanted to know how you experienced knitters would do this. The way I knitted it was p1, k1, p1, then k2tog, then (k1, p1, k2together) x 9 then I knitted 1, p1. K1, p1.

The edge looked not how I would imagine bit messy. Am I doing this wrong?

Thanks for reading x

That sounds like a perfectly good way to do the decreases. The stitches may look more a part of the sleeve as you work more of the stockinette pattern.

Thanks, I tried knitting two together and purling two together for the decrease in the ribbing and they both turned out pretty similar looking so I’m just going with it. I was just panicking thinking I was doing something wrong!

I like the look of the k2tog which will keep the knit stitch on top. You’re going to continue in stockinette so the knit side will be facing. The k2togs then seem to work into the V stitches of the stockinette.
