Is anyone going? I’m trying to convince my friend in NY to buy me a ticket out there so I can go. Just wondering if any of you were planning on going.

omg, in my wildest dreams I would be going to Rhinebeck. swoon
Oooh, oooh, I’ll be there!!
:cheering: :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
That’s this weekend? It’s not far from me, so I might. Depends on the kiddo situation.
Hm…That’s 2 hours from me (barring bottleneck traffic between exits 15 and 16 on the Thruway. Which happens everytime I take the Thruway. :!!! so I’ll have to see. I don’t have anyone to go with, either. :pout:
Make sure you read Stephanie Pearl-McPhee’s Festival Guide before you go…it’s awesome!!
Are you in the city? Near lga or ewr? If I can manage to go, I’d love to go with you. My friend sounds less than thrilled at the idea of driving up there for my yarn addiction, but I’d totally hitch a ride with you if you wanted (and if I go), or at least meet you up there.
Cursed poverty! I’ll see what I can manage.
Newark’s not too far from me, like an hour tops to the airport, but it’s south instead of North. I’ll let you know soon if I do decide to go, cause I might have stuff to do this weekend that I am selectively forgetting. I do that, because I like to pretend my weekends are empty and free because it makes the week seem less bearable.
Still trying to work out how to get there, I thought I had a ride from the city, but it was a no-go, if I go, would love to see some fellow KH’ers.
I’ll be going on Sunday. I’m currently driving solo, so I have plenty o’ room in my soccer-mom vehicle.
I’m coming from Brooklyn (near Park Slope), but am willing to figure out a way to drive to meet someone if it’s not like hours out of my way. PM me if you’re interested!
So I talked to my friend and he’s like, if he gave me the amount of money to buy a ticket to NY, would I really spend it on the airfare? It’s a hard decision, as I REALLY want to go, but I also REALLY want some new shoes and dental care. Cursed poverty! Maybe the fares will go down suddenly? On rare occasion they do. Hmm . . .
I am so very going!!! :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
I live about 25 minutes from the Dutchess County fairgrounds (where it is held).
I would also love to meet some KHers.
I went last year, before I knew how to knit, and it is what inspired me to learn. And from there I found this web site.
Yah, I can’t go either. I have to do those silly responsible things like get an oil change and stuff. I am sad. :verysad:
Thanks so much! I’m not too far away, coastal GA, I’ll be waiting
:roflhard: :roflhard:
Not a problem, Becca - you go wait for me outside your home. I’ll be there - don’t go anywhere until I get there, OK?
Seriously, I’ll be there on Sunday - if any other KH’ers want to meet up, let’s figure out a place to meet!
Where are you? I’m not far, either. If you don’t want it public, you can PM me. I’m just curious. If you don’t want to tell me, either, that’s OK, too. :teehee:
Cursed poverty! If we don’t see a sudden drop in Chicago to NY airfares, I won’t be able to go. On the plus side, my friend said he would give me a consolation prize if I can’t go. Some Poirot movies? Some Rocket Dog shoes? Some fresh-from-the-farm cormo wool? hmmm . . .
LOL, you are so sweet…i’m waiting
I’m so looking forward to seeing the pics that ya’ll are going to get! And the yarn porn :cheering:
We went to the Dutchess County fair this summer and had a great time. I told my hubby about the wool festival last night. If we go it will be the whole family (2 kiddies, hubby, and me) but the kids and hubby. It probably won’t work out but I’m still hopeful.
It’s about 1 1/2 hours from here, I would estimate. So if I prevail and my husband wants to go see the sheep then I’ll be there!
…sorry for you’all who can’t go…boo hoo :verysad:
KnottyDaisy, you MUST convince your husband to go! It’s going to be sunny and beautiful and there’s food to eat, my husband really gets off watching all the other stuff. There’s free cheese & wine & other stuff tastings in the one big building, there’s all kinds of other stuff to look at while you’re looking at yarn. The alpacas are fun, the pumpking throwing contest…
It’s A GREAT DAY. Hope you can make it.
I’m going on Saturday, tomorrow. :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
