Retro knitting commercial

i stumbled on this and wanted to share with my favorite knitters!

I never saw that product before, does anyone know if it worked?

Thanks for posting the link, it’s an interesting bit of the past.

Really? The latest fashionable garments?

lol This is great! Thanks for sharing

Well, Rachel, they were fashionable at one time. In thirty years, they’ll probably laugh at what we’re wearing now.Just love that cardigan :eyebrow:

I don’t remember ever seeing that, but for anyone who wants one

So who is going to bid on it and give us all the details!

I remember them I was to young at the time maybe around 7 or 8 years old. Wow how times flies. I loved woolworth store. It had everything you needed in one store. Just love the price 2.99 :roflhard::roflhard::roflhard:

I worked in a Woolworths when I was in high school. Don’t remember seeing that. I still have a collection of the Coats and Clark pattern booklets. I occasionally make something from them still.

what a riot! I really miss Woolworths, you could get anything there!

There are still Woolworths in England. S and I love going in there with the kids. Also something new to see.

Not to stray from the topic, but if you click on the links at the bottom of the screen when the video is finished, those are good for a giggle, too.

I don’t remember this item, although I was certainly old enough to. Please, young ones, remember what is IN now will someday, before all that long, be out. I enjoyed the days that were more simple, unlike today. Well, enough of my old-lady writings. Enjoy your youth, it doesn’t take long not to be that age again…

OMGosh, I love stuff like this. Not to use, mind you, but just to collect.

Thanks for posting that commercial. What a riot! :teehee:

Yeah, what Wanda said - completely agree. Heck, fashion-wise, half the stuff that’s “in” now was “in” when I was younger - low-waist pants, wedge heeled shoes, surplice style tops, empire waists tops and dresses, peasant styles, etc., etc. So to me, it looks so odd to see it all come back. And, of course, my kids (20 and 12 years) giggle and laugh at Dad’s collection of 8 track and cassette tapes, but someday, their kids will giggle at their MP3s…or something…

Oh, and I’m old enough to remember that knitting kit, but I do not…of course, now that I’m 49 and, ummmm, hormonally-challenged, so to speak, I have a serious case of CRS (can’t remember s**t), so I’m not surprised!!
