Repair holes in knitted aphagan?

A little mouse made a meal on my knitted aphaghan. There are several holes. How do I fix this, or at least tie the loose ends together without the whole area unraveling??? There are several loose ends around the circumference edge of each hole.

thanks In Advance for any advice

You could try needle felting them together?

If they are quite small you might be able to duplicate stitch over them and for a few stitches on each side of the area. I’m not sure what I would do with the ends. Maybe you could sew them to nearby stitches with a matching thread or one ply/strand of the yarn. Experiment a bit and see if anything looks decent. Good luck. I’m sorry your afghan was damaged. Bummer.
