Reduce stitches at which row?

Hi… I have a pattern where 12 rows form a pattern… the instructions say after the 1st set of 12 rows, work a further 12 rows in the pattern. Keeping pattern correct dec one st at beg (side edge of next row)…

my question is with the “keeping pattern correct dec one st at beg”.

Do I knit 24 rows then start the side decreases?

or do I start the dec after the first 12 rows?

thanks

Keeping pattern correct dec one st at beg (side edge of next row)…

From what you have written, I can’t tell. What is the remainder of that sentence that you …?

Alternatively, tell us what pattern you are doing and/or provide a link.

Yes, a link to the pattern would be very helpful. As written, I read it that you do 2 repeats then start decreasing.

Usually when a pattern wants you to do something concurrent with other instructions, it says, “At the same time…”. On the face of it, I think you’re interpretation is correct, work 24 rows and then start the decs.
Yes, a pattern link or even a pattern name is always helpful.
