Red Hot - make one left or right?

Hi

I’m back with another “Red Hot” question!

http://www.knitrowan.com/download.aspx?id=43&fcd=3

The pattern indicates:
Next row (inc) (RS): K2, M1, K to last 2 sts, M1, K2.

In the abbreviations it says:
M1, make one stitch by picking up horizontal loop before next stitch and knitting into back of it;

Is this a Make One Left and does it mean every increase will be a M1L or should I do a make one left at one end of the row and a make one right at the other end?

Also, should I be wary of the words “as set” in the following line?
Working all increases as set by last row, inc 1 st at each end of every foll 6th row until there are 84 (90: 96: 102: 108) sts.

Sorry to ask so many questions - this is my most complicated project yet!

Many thanks,
Sandra

You don’t have to ‘match’ the increases, you can do the same one especially as they just explain it one way.

When a patterns writes ‘as set’ it means to continue as previously defined. So you would keep increasing the same way on every 6th row, a m1 2 sts in from the edge.

Thank you very much!
