Ladies, I need help because party planning has evidently used all of the brain I’m allowed to use. See if you can explain these directions to me, and remember, answer as if speaking to an exceptionally stupid woman who cannot hold a non- party thought in her head for more than a nano-second. I will be so glad after this last party is done. This is for the Lace Tank Pattern over at knitting on the Net. Those folks are so clever!
Directions:
Shape armholes
Keeping to pattern, cast off 4 (5, 5, 6, 6, 7) sts at beg of next 2 rows - 77 (81, 85, 89, 95, 97) sts.** OK I get this part
Dec 1 st at each end of next 5 (5, 5, 5, 7, 7) rows, then on foll 3 (4, 5, 6, 6, 6) alt rows - 61 (63, 65, 67, 69, 71) sts. Once again, I get this until the alternating rows part. Alternating every row for five rows (then it’s all decreases on one side) or alternate every 5th row?
Work even until armhole meas 6 (6, 6.25, 6.25, 6.75, 6.75)" (15 (15, 16, 16, 17, 17) cm), ending with RS facing for next row.
I know it’s probably self-evident to everyone else, but it’s confusing to me, as I’m probably over thinking it. Luckily, I’ve already done some summer tanks for my girls and I’m familiar with the arm-hole shaping.
Thanks in advance. Hope you all have a great 4th!
