Reading the pattern

hello all, I am new at knitting. I am trying to make this baby afghan. I am confused… I know what the abbreviations mean, but not sure how many stiches of each. okay this is what it says

K5, P10, * increase, P12; repeat from * across to last 5 sts, K5: 160 sts.

the part I really don’t understand is the *increase; repeat from * Do I only increase one stitch? so I increase one stitch, P12, increase one stitch, P12 etc until the last 5 stitches.

Is that right?

Yes, that should be right – you’ll end up with 160 stitches on the needle, so you can count the row at the end to see if you’ve got it correctly.

increase 1 purl 12 - repeat this until the last 5 sticthes then knit. You should end up with 160 on your needles.

the word increase has been sued so that you can pick any increase you want.
