Reading pattern

I’m looking at a pattern for an ‘airy’ blanket and haven’t started working it yet. I don’t know if I’m overthinking this part of the pattern:

yo, (K1,yo) 3 times

Do I yarn over and knit a stich, then knit another stitch as normal, then yarn over and knit the next stitch? Maybe the parenthesis are throwing me off what I thought I understood about yarn overs.

The entire row pattern is:
(K2tog)2 times, yo, (K1,yo) 3 times, ssk 2 times

I’m not sure I can name the pattern in this post, but I’ll add a screenshot of the pattern

Hello

A yarn over does not include working a stitch.
To yo bring the yarn from the back, between the needles to the front, then take it over the top of the right needle in readiness for the next stitch. That’s it. No stitch is worked.

Yo, (k1, yo) 3 times will be
Yo
K1, yo, k1, yo, k1, yo

3 stitches have been worked. 4 yarn overs have been done making 4 additional loops on the needle (stitches) so this section begins with 3 stitches and ends with 7.

Hope this helps
