Hey guys! I really need your help! I’m knitting a cardigan and I’m stuck! Can you please explain to me what exactly that means? It’s the back part. Thank you!
“foll 4th rows, cast off 1 st 6 times, then cast off 1 st 8 times, 2 sts 4 times, 3 sts 3 times and 5 sts once”
Welcome to the forum!
That adds up to 88 rows which seems like a lot unless it’s using very light weight yarn. Can you quote the full line of the pattern instructions? What is the name of the pattern?
Hello! Here are the instructions! I’m following the orange lines. I have 90 sts in total!

Thanks. OK, Cast off 1 stitch and then on the 4th row, cast off 1. Continue to cast off 1 stitch on rows 4,8,12,16,20 and 24 then on rows 28,32,36,40,44,48,52 and 56. Cast off 2sts on rows 60,64,68 and 72. Cast off 3sts on rows 76,80 and 84. Cast off 5sts on row 88.
What is the name of the pattern?
OK, the tension is 24 rows to 10 cm or 4". Then 88 rows would be about 37cm or 14.6" which is fine for an armhole. It’s the schematic that seems to be wrong. I’d go ahead with the decreases as you thought and as I posted assuming you’re close to the row gauge given in the pattern.
(I was wrong about the yarn weight which just confirms how yardstick challenged I am!)
Please us the pencil icon in the lower right of your post to delete the pattern. The link is fine. We can’t post large portions of patterns due to copyrights.

I’m sorry I didn’t know about that!!
