Read the label on I Love This Yarn HL

Yesterday I went stash diving for yarn to make the sweater that’s driving me crazy. I have some red I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby that I used for the Something Red cardigan last year. It turned out to be HUGE and I frogged it. Now I know why! The label says #5 BULKY!!! It was on the shelf along with all the worsted in the store and I didn’t give it a thought. And of course I didn’t swatch. I’ve been online this morning researching the yarn and it gives no hints that’s it’s Bulky weight. I have 2 skeins that I didn’t use, plus lots from the frogged cardigan. Was it all bulky? I have no idea. Buyer beware!

I just found this at Knitter’s reviews. Hobby Lobby must have been going through a labeling problem because Baby Bee yarn was labeled bulky as well. Read on:

Yes the labels are wrong. I always figures ILTY is worsted, and at craftsetc, it’s listed under worsted. At the site, http://www.craftsetc.com/store/department.aspx?dep=20&cat=60&subcat=12 when you click on one of the colors, it calls it a 4 and suggests size 8/5mm needles. They also have the Sweet Delight baby yarn listed as a 3 and to use size 6/4mm needles. The pomp is heavier and they list it as a bulky, though it’s sort of a heavy worsted.
