Rainbow Baby Earflap Hat

This was made using Knit Picks Felici self striping sock yarn. I used this pattern, but after reading some of the comments made by others on Ravelry I did the decreases slightly differently to create a nicer (in my opinion) shape to the crown. I also added a pom pom to the top.

I don’t have anyone to model it for me at the moment, so I guess I’ll see how well my modifications turned out when my friend’s son tries it on :rofl: I’m a little worried that it might be a little “girly” though … do you think the colors are ok for a baby boy? I wasn’t expecting the lavender stripe …

This is beautiful!! Definitely adding that to my list of things to make for my little boy.

I wouldn’t have any issue putting a rainbow hat on my boy, might depend on the person but I think rainbow is great for babies and kids and on the neutral side.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I’m glad to hear from everyone that it doesn’t look to “girly” for a little boy … now I won’t feel so bad gifting it!

Adorable! Thanks for the link. And it is perfect for a little boy. (Or baby girl.) My dd is expecting in Nov. and they decided NOT to find out the sex. (I really can’t blame them, but Grandma would love to know in advance.) Anyway, that is a perfect yarn to use for either sex.

Cute hat! Should keep baby warm. Those colors should work for boy or girl.
