Raglan

Help please! I am knitting the back of a sweater with raglan sleeves. I am doing size xl and the pattern reads:
Cast off 7 sts at the beg of the next 2 rows, then dec at each end, 6 sts in from edge:
XL: 2 sts 4 times every 6th row, 2 sts 14 times every 4th row.

What does this mean?

Welcome to KH!
What is the name of your pattern?
It looks like decreases at the armholes on the back of a sweater. Does the pattern give the way to work the decreases (double decreases) 6 sts in from the edge?
The decreases starting with the bind off of 7 sts at the beginning of rows 1 and 2 would be at each end on rows 7,13,19 and 25 then on rows 29,33,37,41,45,49,53,57,61,65,69,73,77 and 81.

These are the pages from the pattern I’m trying to understand

The pattern gives you a very nice sequence for the decreases. The decrease rows listed in my first post give you 18 decrease rows with 4 sts decreased each dec row. Along with the underarm bind off that leaves you with 34sts remaining.

Ahhh…I think I understand (but I will be back if I’m still confused once I get at it lol) Thank you SO much! What a great site

Don’t hesitate to ask again if it’s still confusing. Have fun with finishing up the back.
