Ok, so I have a couple of questions in mind; if you know the answer to any of them (or all of them
), please reply:
-
Can intarsia be done in the round? (4 DPNs, simple intarsia, only 4 color changes)
-
Is there any way to put a marker in a row? (To remember that row number and not having to go back to the cast on and begin counting)
-
Can you hide the holes made due to M1R? (In a hat. They have no pattern whatsoever, so they look like a bunch of random holes)
-
How do you do sssk? (I know ssk, but sssk?)
Thanks!
Ok this is just one knitters opinion but here we go…
- Can intarsia be done in the round? (4 DPNs, simple intarsia, only 4 color changes)
Yes, there are multiple sites that will talk about this very subject.
- Is there any way to put a marker in a row? (To remember that row number and not having to go back to the cast on and begin counting)
This really only works in the round. Ive done it on straight knitting but its not near as efficiant.
When you begin, Place an “end of row” marker and knit one. PM, lets call it “row number” marker, finish row. When you come to the “row number” marker, take it off, knit one, PM, finish row. ect. ect. in short…each time you come to the “row number” marker you move it over one. all you have to do at that point, is count how many stitches is in between the “end of row” marker and the “row number” marker. Be sure you use different colors for each. I have a certain marker I use for “end of row” marker and all others mean something else. This is the method I use when Im working pattern repeats. Right now I have a “end of row” “pattern repeat” “side” and a “row number” marker in my knitting … lol The end of row and side markers never move tho. Its great doing it this way because you cant help but remember to move your marker so your less likely to forget to count a row.
Im not sure thats what you were asking but this is some handy info.
- Can you hide the holes made due to M1R? (In a hat. They have no pattern whatsoever, so they look like a bunch of random holes)
It depends on the way you make your M1R. some just cant be hidden. …This …is my method. Works WONDERS for me. There are always ways to hide holes, wrapping is one way but the best way is what works for the individual knitter. Try all kinds of different ways to M1 but be aware there are reasons for each method because of the results they will give. I sub make ones all the time but not before finding out why they are using the method they are using.
- How do you do sssk? (I know ssk, but sssk?)
Slip, Slip, Slip, Knit. Just an extra slip.
There you have it…
Hope this helps, and I hope other folks chime in.
