Hi - I’m sure this is pretty basic but it’s amazing what can happen when you do it wrong! I’m knitting an afghan and in one part of the pattern it says “work even…”. I had assumed that meant just the even numbers of the rows of the stitch but it certainly doesn’t look like the picture. Does “work even” mean something else?

In a pattern ‘work even’ usually comes after there’s been some incs and decs (though not always) and means to just continue in pattern without incs/decs. You’re keeping the stitch number ‘even’ or the same.
Thanks! So, to be more specific (and more help if possibel!), the pattern says:
Work 10 sts in Double Moss pat, pm, work in Moss Diamond pat to last 10 sts, pm, work 10 sts in Double Moss pat. Work EVEN in established pats, until 7 reps of Moss Diamond pat have been completed. Removing markers, work Double Moss pattern across all stitches for 2 inches. Bind off in pat.
Couple questions:
*why are the markers necessary?
*do I just disregard the work “EVEN”
*Bind off in pattern - I’ve only bound off in a basic knit pattern - is it just the same as casting off?

The markers separate the different stitch patterns, and work even just means to work in pattern anyway. Binding/casting off is just working another row of the pattern except the sts aren’t left on the R needle,
