Question regarding how to do one-row color stripes

So the pattern is “save the drama llama.”

And the legs have multiple colors, the picture is not very clear, but you get the idea.

The pattern calls for four colors, and I need to change color after one row. I don’t know how to prevent color-change jog. I tried helix knitting, and it did not work. I also tried another trick and applied it incorrectly because it only works for two color stripes.

For the left one, I did not do anything and simply knitted. The middle one is caused by the wrong knitting technique that did not work for this pattern. And the third is helix knitting.
Do you know how I can knit the legs without jogs? Or do you know what I did wrong when doing helix knitting? Thanks.

Cute pattern! Thanks for the link.
You could live with the jog and put it to the inside of the leg or work out the helix knitting. See if this video helps. I found that with more than 2 colors I tended to overknit with a single color when I should have stopped and switched colors. (Actually I sometimes do that even with 2 colors.)

I think I’d choose to not bother about it and do as salmonmac suggests.

Here’s a technique that looks nifty!!

I feel like four color helix knitting probably does not work. and the perfect 1 round stripe probably did not work for more than 2 colors. Hiding the jogs is the most efficient solution, or I am just being lazy.

Thanks for all the suggestions. And the cute llama said hi.

Hi back at you, adorable llama! That’s worked out so nicely just hiding the jogs. Looks like a good solution to me.

I want one!!! That’s absolutely adorable. Well done!

PS If anyone should feel like complaining about stripes jogging - they are not knitworthy. Your lama is simply amazing.
