Does anyone happen to know what kind of knitting technique this is and how to do it?
I bought a sweatshirt but the fringe is bit too long and i’d like to shorten

It looks like drop stitches surrounding the cable crosses. If it’s a machine made top, it may be difficult to replicate.
I believe it’s machine-made, but thank you 
Maybe I could find a creative way to fix the length, LOL.
I don’t think there is any way to really shorten the fringe with that design in there. .

Might use a crochet hook to knit horizontal like fixing “ladders” to add diamonds in the top Gap that is wider.
