Question on clogs

I’ve been watching this KAL and was very inspired to try a pair of Clogs for my son (Santa neglected to send him a new pair of slippers!) :wink: I pulled some Cascade out of my stash (years old) and Im almost done with the first one.

Here’s my question, I’m a little confused on the cuff and outer sole join. Do you knit the picked up stitches/working sts AND cast-off on the same round or do you knit the sts tog and then cast-off on the 2nd round. I think I did this wrong and cast off on the second round. Will this make the cuff way too big or do you think I can felt it down??

If you don’t want a bumper, you cast off as you join. If you do want a bumper, you knit the second row (the one with more M1s – and you thought you were done with those?) and bind off as you knit it. :smiley:
