Question- Knit & Purl all in the next stitch?

Hi, I am new to knitting and am working on a fancy scarf pattern.

One of the instructions is to “Knit-Purl-Knit all in the next stitch.” Could anyone help me make sense of this?

THANK you!!

Yes, you’re doing an increase–

Knit in the stitch as you normally would, but don’t slide it off
Bring the yarn forward, purl into the same stitch but don’t slide it off
Put the yarn in back, knit into the same stitch and then slide it off.
You’ll have three stitches instead of the one.

Ta da!

Thank you so much for your quick reply!

I should have figured it was not as complicated as I thought
