Question about poncho pattern

Poncho pattern says to work in garter st for 60 inches and
Twist the two yarns together where they meet on each row.
Twist the two yarns together where they meet on each row? And then what?
Do you knit with 2 both yarns at same time?

Any thoughts on this anyone?
Thanks,
Nancy

Hiya nancy,
do you have the link to the pattern or a picture of it you can post?

If you’re using two colors, and the instruction to twist sounds like you are, then you want to make sure that the yarns twist where they meet to avoid a hole.

The easiest way is to just remember to hold the yarn you’re ending over to the left so it lies on top of the yarn you’re going to pick up. Do this on every row and they will twist.

I don’t know how to add a picture! Don’t ask! But thank you for replying to my question. I am going to try to see if I can add a picture!

Thank you!

DIRECTIONSCO loosely 30 MC [red] and 20 CC [orange] sts.
Work in garter st for 60 inches.
Twist the two yarns together where they meet on each row.
On a row that begins with CC [orange], BO very loosely, with a larger needle if necessary.
Do not cut the MC yarn.
Leave a very long red tail, approximately 3 yards/meters.

FINISHINGFold the rectangle in half lengthwise.

Oh, so when you switch the yarn color on each row, just twine them around the other so they twist a little. Like Ingrid said…

Thank you!
