Question about pattern instruction

Okay I have a really dumb question here. I posted a pattern link below. In the 2nd row it states: *P3. K2tog. yfwd. K6. Rep from *,
the YFWD, do I hold the yarn forward for all 6 knit stitches or just the first one in the K6?

Thanks!!!

You see that period after the YFWD? That tells you that is one operation in itself. In other words you only YFWD ONCE not for all six stitches.

Ahhhh…great, thank you. I had no idea the period meant something!

Thanks a bunch.:cheering:

Just in case…are you aware that yfwd will produce a yarn over?
Cute pattern.

Lol, yes I figured that one out a bit ago
:stuck_out_tongue:

 Cool. I thought you’d know but that’s one of the things that can really make people crazy so I thought I’d risk overstating the obvious. Thanks for letting me know.

Oh I truly appreciate you help. Just assume I know nothing…because 9/10 you will be giving me a great tip. I often wondered what the difference is with yfwd and a yo. Maybe you can help me with that one?

I think yfwd is British, as are a few other terms that translate into yo in American English patterns.

These terms gave me headaches until I figured out what other people were telling me about them. I found out I wasn’t the only one confused.

Glad to know I’m not the only one having fits lol :grphug:
