Qs about Wrap & Turn

I found a how to for rounded edges in “Knitting Beyond the Edge” by Nicky Epstein. (Anyone who has this book- page 154). I need some clarification on how to do the wrap & turn.

sl1 - Is that knitwise or purlwise?

bring yarn to front

sl same st back onto LH needle - Is that knitwise or purlwise?

Thanks for any help you may be able to offer!

Just transfer the stitch–so purlwise, I guess. You don’t want to twist it, just move it over and back.

Thanks, Ingrid. Now I can start my project. Yay!:woohoo:

I had to figure out how to do a wrap and turn before and it didn’t make any sense to me. But if you check out the Advanced Techniques section of this website there is a video on how to do it that really explains it clearly. She talks it out and does it slowly so you understand how to wrap and turn on each side and then how to knit them in when you have finished short-row shaping. It’s really a good little video.

I could never see the sense of short rows until I saw Amy’s video. When you see the completed section with the coloured insert it all comes together in a sense making way
