I was reading about qiviut- has anyone here used it? I’m sure that there is- I was curious to know if it is as wonderful as I’ve heard. If you used it, what did you make with it?

Maybe if I win the lottery one day I’ll buy a small ball of qiviut to try. Until then, well. . . .
Just went on the internet to find out what qiviut was/is… wow, oh, wow.
I can’t even imagine how soft and lucious it must be - to dream - to touch - to use!!!
Thanks for the link, Silver- I have to admit, I’m not sure what I was expecting, but the hat doesn’t look like all that, considering how much it probably cost!!
70 bucks an ounce, huh! Sounds illegal!
Well it IS just yarn. It’s an insanely soft, lightweight and warm uber-luxury yarn, but in the end, it still just yarn.
But, for the sake of others, if anyone has some and doesn’t know what to do with it, I will kindly and generously take it off your hands.
I’m such a nice person!
You’re just jealous that you didn’t think of being this nice before me. :rofling:
Awwww, you’re too nice!! If someone accidentally drops a bagful of qiviut on my doorstep, I’ll make sure to let you know…
It’s just so hard trying to sneak up on the stupid Musk Ox!!
 I’m … just … well … speechless…
Kemp! Look at you with your knitting store!!! :cheering: :cheering:
heehee…thanks Ingrid. It’s not much yet, but I’m hoping to expand quite a bit the next few months…if I can get any customers, that is!
The Cap Kit sells for $80…
You certainly have faithfuls here, but I think you’ll have to stock more than qiviut!
Yep…I have more yarn coming…I figured at let the news slip out a little early though.
I lived in Anchorage, Alaska for 14 yrs. Just before we moved my dh asked me if there was anything from there that I’d like to buy before we left. I told him I’d love one of the Qiviut scarves that the native ladies knit.
They have their own shop there in downtown Anchorage. Depending on which village knitted it depends on what pattern is knitted. :XX: :XX:
He is a doll. He bought me one. I’v had it for 10 yr.s now and I wear it a few times every winter. It is so soft you cannot even tell you have it on except its so warm too. I wore it to my knitting class a few weeks ago and as soon as I walked in the door my yarn lady said WOW!!
Kemp–have you used your qiviut? Is it heavenly?
