I’m working on a toddler sweater, and I just finished the front piece and want to make sure I did it correctly!
I had 72 stitches. For the last row, the patter said: knit 24 stitches and place on stitch holder. Bind off middle 24 stitches. Knit remaining 24 stitches and place on stitch holder.
When I finished binding off the middle part, I had 23 remaining on the left needle, plus one left over on the right needle. I just knit the remaining 23, and then slipped them all off to the holder.
Make sense? (My confusion: that one stitch left on the right needle after I binded off…)
I did it, and it looks OK, but wanted to check with the experts!
