Q about Drop yo?

I’m knitting a hat found on ravelry and it’s telling me to do a “drop yo”. There are two yo’s in the previous round (i’m on circulars)…my idea of “dropping” it is to totally just take it off the needle…does anyone know for sure what to do? If I take it off the needle and not do anything, then the amount of stithes in the round doesn’t match what the pattern says I should have.

Any help is appreciated!!! THANKS! I’ll try to get the pattern so you can see it first hand…be back in a sec.

here’s the pattern:

Lace Background Pattern:
Round 1: k1, yo, sl 1, k1, yo, psso…*repeat across round. (124 stitches)
Round 2: k1, drop yo, k2…*repeat across round. (83 stitches)
Round 3: k2, yo, sl 1, k1, yo, psso…*repeat across round, end with k1. (123 stitches)
Round 4: k2, drop yo, k2…*repeat across round, end with k1. (83 stitches)
*REMINDER: the psso in this pattern refers to passing the slipped stitch over the knit AND
yo stitches.

Yes, you’d completely drop it off the needle. It seems to be part of the lace pattern, and will also elongate the sts around it. Not all patterns that use YOs will drop them on the next round, though, so always follow pattern instructions.
