When I was 11 I was taught to crochet, but not exactly. My cousin taught me how to crochet a string, and that’s all. For the longest time I just made them into necklaces, and bracelettes. I asked her years later how to connect them to actually makes something, and she had forgotten how to do it. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to connect them??

Putting things together
It depends on what you want to do.
If you want to make something in the round, just insert the crochet hook into the first stitch of the chain, crochet the stitch, and you’re off! That first stitch might be a little tight, but that’s normal.
If you want to make something flat, like a scarf, then insert the hook into the last stitch you’ve crocheted, crochet the stitch, and you’re off!

What would I do if I just wanted to make a simple pair of socks?
In order to make them both the same exact size I would have to make sure i have the same amount of stitches in each row on each sock, right?
