Putting a sweater together

I’ve just finished making the pieces of my first sweater, but now I have to put it together. Ugh! Can anyone give me some tips on the order I should do things in before I start the neckband? All it says is “sew right shoulder seam,” and then it starts in on the neckband instructions. I’m a little confused on where to start.

If it matters, the front is a v-neck.

Start with the shoulders, it’s a short seam and you need to have that done for the neckband. After that, I’m not sure if there’s any particular order. I mostly knit one piece bottom up or top down sweaters and none with set in sleeves, so don’t know which way might be easier. But at least get going with the shoulder seams.
