I’m trying to figure out entrelac and the pattern is telling me to ‘p1, turn’ and I can’t figure out how to purl on the wrong side.
Here’s a link to the pattern I’m working on if it helps. I’m on row 2.

Cute gloves. Have you done any entrelac before? If not you might want to do something that is flat before you try this. I notice it says the pattern is “not for the intrepid”.

On the first row you did a ssk I think and then turned. The ssk makes you end up with one stitch on the right needle. Then you turn. You actually turn everything around so that the 1 stitch on your right needle is now on your left needle and the WS (the inside of the glove) is facing you. Have the yarn in front and purl that 1 stitch then turn it back so that the right side is facing you and do row 3.
I just tried a bit of this out and I see why people resort to knitting back backwards instead of turning and purling back. This is a lot of turning back and forth. ![]()
cute gloves!! I had to google entrelac because I didn’t even know what it meant, even though I’ve seen the word a lot - just never paid much attention to it. I’m going to have to try that pattern, just for the heck of it!!!
I’m wondering if it could be done easier on a circular needle instead of DPNs. I have a 9" circular.
