I’m knitting Elann’s Tapestry Shawl pattern and I’m on the Tapestry Square. Row 6: P, inc 1 st at each edge…how do you do a purl increase? I know how to do a knit increase with no problem. I’d appreciate any help you could provide. Thanks so much.
This page has videos on how to do a M1L, M1R, and a bar increase on the purl side. You could use either of these types of increases. A bar increase is an all purpose type of increase, a M1L slants to the left and a M1R slants to the right.
You can purl into the front and back of the stitch, or you can do a M1 increase where you lift the yarn from the back to the front between the stitches and purl into the front loop of it.
