Purl trouble

I need some help I am a beginner knitter (I taught my self) and my purl sts look odd I do what the instructions say but I cannot do one correct. Any tips? :eyes:

Have you looked at the tutorials on this sight? Do you have your yarn in front of your needles before you put your needle in to purl?

The top of the page has a video tab. Select that and then click purl.
