Didn’t try to make it in stockinette, but screwing something up . I think after I do a wrap and turn , I’m ending up on a Purl side once I turn. I think that’s where my problem is . I’m so sorry for driving you crazy with this .

No problem. I just wish I were with you to get this straightened out more easily for you.
On the short rows, you should be knitting right side and wrong side rows (knitting back and forth, no purl rows).
When you complete both earflaps you’ll be knitting one round, purling the next round so that you get garter stitch in the round.
You’re so close since one edge looks fine. It’s just a matter of doing something similar on the other edge.

Use markers on the wraped sts and that will help. Be sure the wrap the stitch after the gap on each row. You’ll work this out for both sides of the earflap, I’m sure. If it still isn’t working, come back here and we’ll figure something else out.

I’m going to start again. I’m going to re read everything you’ve sent me , and follow your diagrams. I’m doing something wrong after I wrap and turn on the left side , in between the red markers. I’m going wrong after that turn . That’s where my problem is. Also, I should be using removable markers , and I wasn’t doing that .
Try to repeat what you’re doing on the side nearest the red marker on the rows heading toward the yellow marker. Each short row moves you one more stitch toward these markers.

I could never have done this without your help !! You are an angel! I know what I was doing wrong now. I wasn’t turning midway within the 18 stitches . I was knitting too far, beyond , to the beginning of the round. I can’t believe how easy this really is. Thank you so much . You never know, I might be back ! Lol
