Hi Everyone,
I have a question about the pattern I am currently working on. It’s a wrap with slits, and I don’t understand the slit part very well. I am relatively new to knitting, and sometimes the patterns just confuse the heck out of me.
As far as I understand I am suppose to keep working row 1-8. I am confused on what to do with the dropped yarn.
Here is a link to the pattern:
Thank you.
It’s a great looking wrap! The instructions to drop the yarn and start a new skein of yarn are in order to make the slits. Just to make the explanation easier I’ve numbered the skeins of yarn that you use as you work the pattern across the fromt 1,2,and 3. When you turn the work to the back you’ll pattern across with skein #3 to the dropped yarn (skein #2) and then drop the working yarn (#3) and pick up skein #2, work to the first drop (skein#1) and finish the row. On the front it’s ball #1, drop, pick up skein #2, work, drop, pick up skein #3 and work to the end again. This will give you the slits or holes shown in the photo. After 6 1/2 inches, on the front side, just continued with skein #1 all the way across and until the end of the row. Skeins #2 and 3 just get cut and the ends woven into the work. Hope this helps!
thank you, I will give that a try and it makes more sense now.
