I’m working the Finn and Jake amigurumi pattern from cut out and keep.
I’m working on Finn’s leg and ran into “k1, pu&k3, k1”. I’m working a 5 stitch i-cord and I’ve never done a pu&k before. What exactly am I picking up? There are no bars to pick up like for an increase so I’m confused… help!
How many stitches are on your needle? Have you made an i-cord before? If it’s a 5 stitch i-cord it might just mean that you need to get enough stitches. Is it possible they want you to pick up from the spaces?
I can’t see the actual pattern because there is too much signing in for it. I avoid those sites, but those guys are cute! If you need to you can post a pic. Link in my sig. If someone done else has done this please weigh in.

I have 5 stitches on my needle currently. I have done an Icord before but now I’ve noticed I have bars running across which I have not had so somethings not right with my Icord now…

It wants me to log in through FB, Twitter, or Google+. I looked at the pictures on Ravelry and it looks like a regular icord to me. Oh! Are you starting on the foot? It looks like it’s bent so maybe that is why you do that! What is the next row or two?

Jan’s right. The pattern lists pu&k in the abbreviations
pu&k: pick up the stitch below the next stitch on the needle, knit it together with the next stitch. (Used to shape feet and prevent color jog when knitting in the round.)
So for your 5sts, you would k1, pu&k in the next 3sts and then k1.

Since I first asked a question here, I’ve never thought to ask a knitting question anywhere else. You all have me spoiled!
ahhh ok well I’m already to the body and I noticed I’m 2 stitches over where I should be because I increased instead of doing this into each stitch… 
(I wish knitting patterns called out stitch counts at the end of each instruction line like crochet:happydance: …) I knew Icording 6 stitches was not quite right…hence my slight laddering issue. oh well next Finn I knit now I know! Thanks for explaining!!
That sounds like a creative change, artistic interpretation of the pattern.

pu&k: pick up the stitch below the next stitch on the needle, [B]knit it together [/B]with the next stitch.
This looks like you knit them both, together.
So it’s technically a knit two together?

His left ear is a little wonky but it gives him some character. 
This project has been good seaming practice, I tried a lot of different things with different results, one day I will have perfectly invisible seams.
Now on to Jake! Hopefully I can get this pu&k thing down! :happydance:

I did the Icord with 6 stitches and it felt really odd & didn’t = to 24 stitches??? So I don’t know what pu&k3 means… does it mean pick the stitch up [the one in between the 2 current stitches] them knit them together then repeat for 3 times???
