Problem understanding instructions

It means to knit the stitches however they look on this row. If it looks like a knit knit it, if it looks like a purl then purl it. A cable pattern has you crossing the sts only every 4 or 6 or 8 rows, not every row, and only on RS rows; otherwise it’s like ribbing with alternating knit and purl sts.

What’s the name of your pattern? It may be there are no corrections for it, it’s just doing something or using terms you’re not familiar with.

The name of the pattern is Piccoli and there are errors in the pattern another lady posted this on Ravelry that she had to figure it out herself also. Thanks so much for the help!

Hello there, i have been in touch with the publisher who actually got in touch with the author and she has been emailing me. I guess no one has ever went this far to find out the corrections because she acted like it was a surprise to her. Anyway I don’t even think she is looking at the directions when she answers my questions and I am still lost like crazy on this pattern. I wanted to see if any of you experienced knitters out there would be willing to correct the pattern for me if I mailed or scanned it to you. I would be willing to pay for that. In the mean time I started a different dog sweater that is marked easy, so far so good. I do have one question. It says make one increase at each end on alternate rows. Does alternate mean every knit row (I’m working stockinette stitch). I would appreciate the help again.

It says make one increase at each end on alternate rows.
That means to increase on each end every other row. Since you are doing St st, the increases are probably on the knit side and would all be on ends of each knit row, with the purl row between.

Yes, an alternate row is every other one, and the first inc would be a knit row, so all of them will be on the knit rows.
