Problem: Needles Tied Together?

I found a blanket I was halfway through that I haven’t worked on in about 8 months, so I decided to finish it. But for some reason, after doing about two rows, I’ve got yarn stretched in between the needles. So instead of having one side with the stitches on and the other empty, I’ve got the stitches on one side with yarn stretching over to the other side (it’s on circular needles).

If I can find the cable to hook up my camera to my computer, I’ll post a picture of it.

Anyone know what went wrong and/or how to fix it?

It sounds like you knit the wrong direction when you picked it up again. If so you’ll need to undo the knitting back to thst point, the start knitting in the same direction. I’ll try to illustrate:

L _____ _____ R

So if this is you circular needle, you wouls have been knittin stitches off the left needle on to the right. When you picked it up again, you may have flipped it around and kept going.

R _____ _____ L

This would mean that you were now reknitting the stitches on the R needle before you got to the end of the row.

I hope this makes some sense.

That seems like a pretty good possibility (I’m prone to doing dumb things like that). I’ll give my mom a call to see how to undo the stitches (can’t remember for the life of me). Thanks for your quick response!
