Problem: Men's Socks on 2 Circulars

Hi there!
I am already planning my next knitting project: socks for DH for 2nd anniversary. I have never made socks before but really want to try them. I have heard that making them on two circulars helps with keeping them consistent.

I found awesome yarn and a cool pattern at knitpicks.com.

The problem is that the socks are for a women’s medium. Could someone adjust them for me to a men’s size? He wears a size 9 1/2 shoe.

Thanks!
Jen

I don’t know anything about resizing, but you can always use the yarn on another pattern. Here are a few to check out.

This one is done by Silver here in the forum.

Unless his foot is especially wide, you probably will not need to adjust the pattern. Just knit the foot portion longer than you would for a woman. Start the toe decreases when the sock (from the turned heel to the needles) is 2 inches shorter than his foot from heel to toe.

If his foot IS wide, knit them on needles one size larger.

Thanks so much for the advice! I can’t wait to start making socks!

I am making my 2nd sock on 2 circulars- it is so much fun!! I can’t wait to finish this one so I can start on more. :cheering:
