Hi,
I’m getting reading to knit an afghan pattern with which you can use up to 6 yarn strands/colors all at once. In practicing a swatch, I noticed that I had a twisted mess after several rows. Is there any way to keep the yarn from twisting into knots?
I knit with 3 strands once, and I started out getting all tangled. I did have fewer problems when I moved my skeins/balls farther apart from one another and didn’t pull out too long a strand at a time. HTH
They’re going to twist, no matter what. You can put each color into a zip lock bag; that will prevent a tangled mess, but they’ll still twist some.

I’m going to try putting the skeins in zipper bags as you suggested, then putting a bungee strap around all the bags to hold them together. Hopefully I’ll be able to untwist the whole group as one unit!
The ziploc bag idea does work perfectly. I just put on skein (in it’s bag) on either side of me) and they don’t tangle as much. You can also be sure to take the time to untwist them after each round if that helps.
If you have a ball winder you can wind the two skeins into one center pull ball, also! (I’m usually to lazy to do this and just use the ziploc bags!
