Pretty Bulky Sweater - Lion Woolease T&Q

Here is the sweater I’m working on. I can’t wait to finish it! I’ve never made a sweater before, so wish me luck! It is going quickly, since the yarn is very thick. (Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick yarn)

The pattern comes from a book called “The Learn to Knit a Sweater Book”, published by the American School of Needlework, in association with Lion Brand Yarn. I think I got the book at Michaels. The pattern is very easy, and fun to do. There are great instructions, with clear diagrams that really help. :XX:

Looks great so far! Welcome to the forum! :waving:

That red yarn is beautiful!! :inlove:

Awesome job so far too!

Thanks for the encouragement! I’ll be one proud knitter when I can wear that sweater. The color of the yarn is Spice, and it exactly matches the color my hair used to be when I was young. Now that I’m older, I’m turning blonde…in more ways than one. :??

It’s looking great! Can’t wait to see it when it’s finished!

That looks like a nice, comfy, stretchy stitch, too…GREAT JOB!

You have inspired me! I have that book also, but have not made anything out of it yet. I saw that pattern, liked it, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. Also, I love that yarn–that’s my favorite color. Maybe now, I can start a sweater, since I’ve seen how pretty yours looks. I’ve never used Lion Brand’s Thick & Quick.

Knitaholic

Your knitting looks great. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Looking good! Love the color!

Looks great so far! And what a beautiful color!!

I just found the pattern book I am using for this chunky sweater on eBay for one penny! Somebody might want to grab it! (It is located in Canada, so be sure to check the shipping fee first.)

That is going to be one pretty sweater.

 I like it, too…are u still working on your sweater? Love the color

Ooh, I really like the pattern you’re using, and the color is yummy. Good for you, knitting your first sweater! I haven’t yet taken the plunge. I’m not a sweater wearer myself (too top heavy to like the way I look in them, and too hot-natured, to boot!). I’m thinking of making a baby sweater for my stepson’s new baby, though.

That pattern looks really pretty! What size range does the book cover? Probably no plus sizes, eh?

Actually, I am plus-sized, so I know that it has my size!

The book has patterns that go from size Small up to size 3X.

Thanks. I’ve been concentrating on my spring “saguaro” sweater lately, but I’ll get back to this sweater soon. I want to have it finished in time for fall!

Alert the media!!! It’s been two and a half years, and I’m FINALLY working on this sweater again.
:teehee:

So far, I’ve finished the back and left front, and cast on the right front.

I really like how it’s turning out.

I might actually get to wear this sweater before Christmas!
:cheering: :woohoo: :cheering:

:roflhard: Well good for you! I like the rusty color!

Looks great and the yarn is lovely ! Can’t wait to see it finished
