Preemie Bootie Pattern?

I was just wondering if anyone can help me find a sock or bootie pattern for a premature boy. My niece has a new tiny one.

I had thought about making a pair of regular ones that he can grow into, but I’d really rather make some small enough. The only one I found was knitted on flat needles, and seamed up the back. I don’t make very pretty seams, so if anyone knows of one knitted in the round, I’d really appreciate it. I also thought about following an infant sock pattern I found online, but using smaller needles, and finer yarn. Would that work?
