I’m using this pattern http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall02/PATTbroadstreet.html, which was not written for Magic Loop or two-at-a-time knitting, but I have tried to figure it out to use both of those methods together. Everything’s been going great til I finished the thumb gusset, put the thumb stitches on a holder and now need to close up the palm with the back. The pattern calls for CO 11 stitches, and I can’t figure out how to do it with Magic Loop, since I’ve got 2 gloves on the needles. Any advice? Anyone done 2 at a time gloves with Magic Loop? I can switch to DPNs if necessary, but would rather not have to if possible. Thanks!
BTW, I have the palms of the gloves facing out, so the thumbs are pointing at each other. The backs of the gloves are on the other side of the loop.
When you get to the st where you have to CO, move the R needle to the left hand and cast them on, then switch it back and go on. Ignore the other glove for a second.
Brilliant! Thanks so much. I haven’t done many CO in the middle of a row before; I totally forgot you could switch the needles! Hopefully the Right glove CO will go as smoothly… 
Ok, doing that for the left glove worked beautifully, but I’m not sure how to do it for the right one. Any other advice? Thanks!
It should work the same way, you just do it on the other side of the hand part.
But how do I get around to that part? The yarn is on the back of the loop.
When you do that part of the glove on the other glove. You work around to it don’t you?

I’ve never done 2 at a time anything with ML, though I can ‘see’ how it works. I think it would work okay for the R glove, to have the CO sts ‘backwards’, you just want them between the gusset and hand. You may need to use another end of yarn to CO with, then drop it when you continue on with the hand, and use that for the thumb later. Would that work?
I could try that… I did try using waste yarn, thinking that I could remove it after I’d cast on the stitches, but don’t see how that would be possible. I’ll have to rip them out and try again since I used too-short non-matching yarn.

Scrap yarn would work; after you take it out, put the sts on a needle then knit them on the thumb.
Ok, I got it! I CO the st I needed to on the back loop using a DPN, then left them on there while I knitted around the palm and back of the glove. Then once I got I got back to that glove (after knitting a round on the left glove), I transferred the CO st to the front of the loop and connected them. It may not have been the best way, but it worked! I guess next time I will make the thumbs on the outside and not facing each other. Thanks again for the help.
